Mass media as the main channel of information was responsible for conveying information that became the public reference. Tirto.id, a verified news portal at the Press Council, reported six investigative news stories high lighting the government's unpreparedness in dealing with the spread of Covid-19. The news between 27 February to 14 March 2020 were the objects of this research. Based on the objects, this research focused on the construction of Tirto.id on the reality of the government's unpreparedness. This study used a descriptive qualitative method through Robert M. Entman's framing analysis model. The reports of this study werestructured into: Define Problems, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgments, and Treatment Recommendations. On the aspect of Define Problems, the research showed misinformation and coordination. The aspects of DiagnoseCauses were being ignored because of safe feeling. On the aspect of Make Moral Judgments, it showed criticism of biased policies. Meanwhile, on Treatment Recommendations, the state/government must be able to protect its people. The conclusion obtained showed that Tirto.id saw the government's unpreparedness as a reflection of the country's failure to protect its people due to unprofessional actions and biased policies in handling Covid-19.

Setiap daerah memiliki kerentanan akan terjadinya bencana alam. Bengkulu adalah salah satu wilayah yang memiliki potensi terjadinya bencana gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir dan longsor. Sehingga wajar bila seharusnya media massa secara intens selalu memberitakan terkait kebencanaan. Kualitas informasi terkait penanggulangan hingga rehabilitasi paska bencana perlu didukung oleh pengetahuan dan kemampuan jurnalis dalam melakukan peliputan dan penulisan teks berita yang sesuai dengan kaidah jurnalisme bencana. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan, menciptakan kesadaran dan menambah keterampilan bagi jurnalis-jurnalis muda media online di Bengkulu. Pengetahuan tentang Jurnalisme Bencana menjadi landasan dalam membangun kesadaran jurnalis untuk menjalankan tugasnya dalam penulisan berita bencana menjadi lebih ideal. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan diantaranya FGD (Focus Group Discussion), penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Berdasarkan kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jurnalis sebenarnya memiliki keinginan untuk melakukan peliputan bencana, beberapa kendala yang dihadapi adalah fokus perhatian media yang tidak memberi ruang terhadap permasalahan bencana kecuali saat kejadian bencana. Berdasarkan kegiatan tersebut jurnalis juga mulai memiliki motivasi untuk membangun perspektif yang luas dari konsepsi jurnalisme bencana. Jurnalis menjadi punya ide untuk tidak hanya menyoroti bencana saat kejadian namun pasca kejadian bencana.

has become a new health problem that never happened before. Information about health issues is important, especially in the pre-pandemic to anticipate the outbreak. Media as the main source of information has an important role in delivering messages.This research aims to analyze the frame used by media youtube and news portals tribunnews in the pre covid-19 coverage in Indonesia during March 2020. The method in this research used framing analyze by Robert Entman, by four functions of frames there are problem definition, causal interpretation, moral evaluation and treatment recommendation. We choose news by purposive sampling technique. The result of the research showed that in the covid-19 coverage information is dynamic. Although the news is presented through two different platforms, namely news portal and youtube, it does not show a significant difference in information content. Researchers divided this coverage by three periods, first period on 1-10 March 2020 shows a frame of calm and builds enthusiasm in facing the pandemic, the second period 11-20 March frame the covid-19 was changed to a threat and risk, the third period 21-31shows covid-19 frame as cautious and fear because it shows aspects of victims, economic downturns and variety other threats.
