Estudo das latências e amplitudes dos potenciais evocados auditivos de média latência em indivíduos audiologicamente normais

Abstract: Cont emporary cohort cross-sectional study. Introduction:The auditory middle latency response (AMLR) is generated between 10 and 80 ms and has multiple generators, with a greater contribution from the thalamus-cortical pathways. The establishment of normality criteria for latency and amplitude values is necessary for clinical use. Aim: to analyze the latency and amplitude of the AMLR in individuals without audiological disorders, and verify the reliability of Pa-Nb amplitude. Materials and Methods: The AMLR of… Show more

“…In general, Na is observed between 12 and 27 ms; Pa is the highest positive peak after Na, between 25 and 40ms; Nb is the negative peak after Pa, between 30 and 55ms 3,[21][22] . The average Pa-interamplitude value of the studied population is also consistent with the literature, between 0.5 μV and 2.0 μV 20 and between 0.4 μV and 2.58 μV for the age group 16,23 .…”

“…Furthermore, in children, due to neuromaturation in full development, functional age-related differences have characterized the nature of Na-Pa interamplitude responses. Ear and hemisphere effects have been identifi ed in this population even in conditions of typical development of auditory system due to the maturational process 5,[23][24][25] .…”

“…Foram medidas as latências e amplitudes das ondas. A literatura mostra que os valores de latência são considerados como uma medida com menos variabilidade do que os valores de amplitude 19,20 .…”

“…These include variables related to the individual, such as age, gender, drugs taken, body temperature, muscle artifacts, among others. [6][7][8] Several stimulus-related variables influence AEPs, including polarity, filter, stimulus intensity and stimulation rate. The following is an example of a protocol used in the clinical practice to obtain BAEP recordings: click stimulus, condensation polarity, stimulus intensity of 80 dB HL, a rate of 27.7 stimuli/s and a bandpass filter of 100 Hz to 3,000 Hz.…”
