Digital technologies are central elements of today's society. In this context to achieve an adequate degree of development of Digital Competence for professional performance is essential, as well as for life in society and the exercise of citizenship. Higher Education must actively contribute to develop Digital Competence, training students to effectively use digital technologies. That need is exacerbated in the case of initial teacher training, not only because of the progress towards a digitalized school, but also because of the fundamental role in the training of future generations. With the aim of promoting the development of Digital Teaching Competence, this paper presents an innovation project implemented in the Degree of Teacher of Nursery and Primary Education of the University of Valencia that is based on the didactic use of EduBlog. The selection of this digital tool responds to its multiple benefits on the work of curricular content, the development of digital skills and the creation of a positive climate in the classroom. The project developed with a total of 131 second-year students demonstrates that the use of EduBlog has a positive impact on the learning process and on the increase in student engagement and motivation.

Socially disadvantaged youth are a group to which prejudices are attached which question the appropriateness of their participation, communication and language in the digital setting. From this perspective, the aim of the present research proposes to identify the forms and expressions of communication used by socially disadvantaged young people from the city of Madrid in social networks. This will be examined as a tool for the development of interpersonal and social relatedness processes, which will enable inclusion and socialisation in contemporary society. To this end, a qualitative approach was proposed which enabled a set of core memos, codes, networks and categories to be established, through which study data were interpreted. WhatsApp images and interviews conducted with 78 informants were analysed using Atlas.ti 9 software. All participants belonged to a social group characterised by circumstances of social vulnerability. Of the main findings, it should be indicated that these young people exhibit a social network use that is not limited to engagement in digital leisure but, instead, is based on the exchange of communication. For this reason, these individuals have developed their own language, a fact that highlights specific traits of the digital culture to which they belong and contributes to disproving the idea that these young people use the digital setting inappropriately.

El uso de la red social Instagram abre un amplio espacio a propuestas educativas que no sólo tienen que ver con la difusión de imágenes y vídeos, la relación casual a través de “likes” o las conversaciones privadas. Ofrece también la posibilidad de intercambio de conocimientos e información académica desde una perspectiva asíncrona, dinámica y no paternalista. Este trabajo presenta los resultados de una experiencia de aprendizaje-servicio virtual donde el alumnado del Grado de Educación Social ha incluido esta plataforma en su dinámica de trabajo académico. El objetivo es visibilizar el perfil profesional de las/los educadoras/es sociales, al tiempo que investigan sobre diferentes necesidades circundantes para sensibilizar y reclamar de manera pública una intervención ajustada. Para el análisis de los datos hemos utilizado una metodología mixta con datos cualitativos (informes de trabajo y reflexiones grupales) y cuantitativos (impacto de publicaciones) tomados longitudinalmente. Finalmente podemos destacar que el uso de Instagram en las aulas universitarias promueve la consolidación de una identidad profesional en Educación Social y también contribuye a la participación e inclusión de todo el alumnado en el grupo aula. Por último, también se cubre una necesidad social, base en el ApS, contrarrestando prejuicios vinculados a colectivos vulnerables.
