Between 1962 and1967, Mexico was producing more sea turtle products than any other nation (O'Donnell 1974; Koch et al 2006) and by the 1970s, sea turtle populations were unable to reproduce fast enough in the face of increasing regional and global demand (Clifton et al 1979).…”
