Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze Esther Luque Muñoz's (1885Muñoz's ( -1944 academic and pharmaceutical trajectory. She was the first Mexican woman to graduate as Professor of Pharmacy from the Escuela Nacional de Medicina (National School of Medicine); she was also the first woman to be named Associate Professor at the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Químicas (National School of Chemical Sciences, ENCQ by its acronym in Spanish), which is now the Faculty of Chemistry at the UNAM.
