Establishing patterns in the influence of micro- and nano-dispersed mineral additives on the water resistance of construction gypsum

Abstract: This paper reports a study into the effect of mineral fillers such as ground granulated blast furnace slag, microsilica, and nano dispersed alumina on the structure formation and water resistance of gypsum. The theoretical models of gypsum stone structure with mineral fillers have been built and described, taking into consideration the sign of the surface charge of gypsum crystals and filler particles. In accordance with the developed models, the fillers enable the formation of a dense structure of gypsum ston… Show more

“…As shown in [19,20], more effective in protecting against the penetration of aggressive environment will be the implementation of an approach based on optimizing particle size distribution of the components of the cement composition. The electrosurface properties of the introduced dispersed additives also play an important role, which is confirmed by research [21].…”

“…Among their hydration products are not only calcium dihydrate sulfate crystals but also low-basic calcium hydrosilicates and other slightly soluble hydrates. According to [14], these can form electroheterogeneous contacts with calcium dihydrate sulfate crystals that provide the formation of the waterresistant structure.…”
