Epilepsy Occurrence and Circadian Rhythm: A Bibliometrics Study and Visualization Analysis via CiteSpace

Abstract: This study aimed to review the research status and to demonstrate the hot spots and frontiers of epilepsy and circadian rhythm via CiteSpace. Method: We searched Web of Science (WoS) for studies related to epilepsy and circadian rhythm from inception to 2020. CiteSpace was used to generate network maps about the collaborations between authors, countries, and institutions and reveal hot spots and frontiers of epilepsy and circadian rhythm. Results: A total of 704 studies related to epilepsy and circadian rhythm… Show more

“…CiteSpace V (Version 5.7 R2, downloaded from http://cluster.cis.drexel.edu/ ) is another information visualization software tool created by Professor Chaomei Chen (Synnestvedt et al, 2005 ). In the present study, this software was implemented for constructing network visualization of author/institution cooperation analysis, co-occurring network of subject categories, as well as detecting the references and keywords with the strongest citation bursts (Zhong et al, 2020 ; Yan et al, 2021 ). Based on varying settings of time slices and thresholds, more pertinent conclusions can be drawn.…”

“…It not only provides a basis for researchers to analyze subject hot spots and development trends and predict the developmental direction of the discipline, but also provides a reference for hospital disciplinary construction and talent training. In the present study, CiteSpace, a Java-based application, will be used for bibliometrics and visual analysis (5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10). Notably, this is the first time CiteSpace has been used for visual analysis in the field of epilepsy with suicide.…”
