Eosinophil count in petrol pump workers in and around the Muzaffarnagar City

Abstract: Background: Benzene exposure is one of the main health concerns for high risk occupations like petrol pump workers. But there is little knowledge about the effect of benzene metabolites on blood parameters. “…Hasil penelitian menunjukan pengaruh yang beragam pada perlakuan pemaparan benzena perinhalasi di evaluasi hapusan darah "tikus putih jantan Rattus norvegicus strain wistar yang dipapar benzena perinhalasi sampai 8 jam/hari 5hari/minggu pada 28 hari. Terjadi penurunan persentase eosinofil dari 0,6% pada kelompok 1 ppm menjadi 0,2% pada kelompok 10 ppm, ini selaras bersama penelitian Singh, et al, 2014 pada 54 petugas pom bensin di Kota Muzaffarnagar, Ia menjelaskan hal ini mungkin disebabkan oleh karena supresi sumsum tulang akibat metabolit benzena [5].
