The role and function of entrepreneurial culture get more important and is the main driver of sustainable regional and national economic growth in Indonesia. The specific purpose of this article is to explain the role of entrepreneurial culture as the driver of regional economic growth in Central Java, Indonesia. For the purpose of this research, a survey for primary data and recursive model of path analysis are employed. The research results show positive and significance influence of entrepreneurial culture and network as well as competition on regional economic growth. With the principle of "tuna satak bati sanak" culture as the basic behavioral pattern of their business, the social entrepreneurial network and entrepreneurial culture in the research area are strengthened. Therefore, with support of entrepreneurial culture, the growth of entrepreneurship in Indonesia will serve more to be the main driver of sustainable economic growth.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is widely spread, not only multi-sectoral, but also across many fields, especially in socio-economic life and institutions of the communities. The purpose of this paper is to explain the importance of building a spirit of social entrepreneurship and the institutional environment to accelerate economic recovery and growth caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used a mixed methods research design. Qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis was used through exploratory and explanatory designs. The main data source is primary data obtained through a survey of social entrepreneurship actors in various regions in Indonesia. The main contribution is to provide a conceptual model that integrates the spirit of social entrepreneurship (SSE) into new institutional economic theory (NIE). The results of the study concluded that the role of social entrepreneurship (SE) and the institutional environment has not been optimized to support economic growth. Hence, there is a need for a spirit and existing institutional environment quality to encourage sustainable economic growth. Without a strong spirit and encouragement from the quality of the institutional environment which has political authority, the SE will be difficult to become a formal and strong entrepreneurial and cultural economic movement.

Purpose: This study reveals the condition of MSMEs in the Sleman Regency area and how efforts must be made so that MSMEs are promoted. Research methodology: Qualitative approach with interviews and focus group discussions. Results: Based on the studies conducted, it is shown that the journey of MSMEs to advance to class is not an easy thing. At the pilot stage, SMEs must pass through what is called the "valley of death". The next stage of development is a period of growing; and advancement, where each stage of each MSME is different. For MSMEs to move up a class, a strategy is needed with a focus on efforts to increase sales turnover. Limitations: Although the instrument has been designed to be generally accepted, due to time constraints and data availability, it is possible that there may still be sectoral bias, especially for sectors outside trade, services, and manufacturing. Contribution: This study is expected to help contribute to the stages of development of MSMEs in Sleman Regency, so that it can help the Sleman Regency government to formulate policies related to MSMEs advancing to class.
