Association between auxins and plant growth-promoting bacteria can stimulate root growth and development of fruit crop nursery plants, and can be a promising biological alternative to increase the rooting of cuttings. The objective of this study was to assess the viability of producing ‘Powderblue’ blueberry nursery plants from cuttings using different doses of indolebutyric acid (IBA) in association with Azospirillum brasilense. The following treatments were tested: 0 (control); 500 mg L−1 of IBA; 1000 mg L−1 of IBA; A. brasilense; 500 mg L−1 of IBA + A. brasilense; and 1000 mg L−1 of IBA + A. brasilense. The experimental design was completely randomized, with six treatments and four replicates, and each plot (box) consisted of 10 cuttings. The boxes were arranged in a mist chamber with an intermittent regimen controlled by a timer and solenoid valve. After 90 days, the following variables were assessed: rooted cuttings; survival of cuttings; foliar retention; sprouting; cuttings with callus; root dry mass per cutting; number of roots per cutting; and root length. It was observed that the application of IBA with the A. brasilense rhizobacteria increased the number of roots of ‘Powderblue’ blueberry cuttings, while the treatments with IBA alone and IBA 1000 mg L−1 + A. brasilense increased the root length of cuttings. However, treatments with IBA and A. brasilense had no impact on % rooted cuttings and % survival of cuttings.

Brazil offers great perspectives for the expansion of blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) cultivation areas, mainly in family agriculture areas. Among the factors that limit the expansion of this culture is the difficulty to propagate some cultivars. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the use of different substrates and concentrations of indolebutyric acid (IBA) for blueberry cuttings cvs. Woodard rooting, to optimize seedlings production system. The experimental design was totally randomized in a 3X3 factorial scheme, with five replications of 10 cuttings, and included the following factors: types of substrate (carbonized rice husk, vermiculite medium granules and coconut fiber) and IBA concentrations (0, 1,000 and 2,000 mg L-1). After 150 days, survival percentage was superior for carbonized rice husk, with no influence of IBA concentration. In regards to rooting, the carbonized rice husk and coconut fiber provided better results, being IBA application favorable for this variable. It was concluded that 'Woodard' blueberry can be propagated by herbaceous cuttings, using preferentially carbonized rice husk and application of 1,000 mg L-1 IBA is recommended for rooting of softwood cuttings.

Resumo:A Schlumbergera truncata é uma cactaceae ornamental, propagada por estacas, e o xaxim é um dos substratos utilizados. Devido à ameaça de extinção do xaxim, torna-se necessário avaliar substratos alternativos. A utilização de substratos adequados e o uso de substâncias promotoras de organogênese, como as auxinas, auxiliam no processo de propagação vegetativa. Dessa maneira, objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o desenvolvimento de estacas de S. truncata em diferentes substratos e o efeito do AIB na organogênese. Foram realizados seis tratamentos, que consistiram na combinação de três substratos (pó de xaxim; pó de coco e substrato comercial), bem como na presença (600 mg L -1 ) ou ausência de AIB. Foram utilizadas 20 estacas por tratamento, sendo distribuídas em cinco repetições com quatro estacas por repetição, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 3 x 2 (substratos x AIB). Não houve interação significativa entre os fatores, sendo avaliados isoladamente. Nos substratos pó de xaxim, substrato comercial e pó de coco, as estacas apresentaram 3,0; 3,7 e 1,3 brotos por planta, respectivamente. Após exposição à solução de AIB com 0 e 600 mg L -1 , as estacas apresentaram 2,2 e 3,1 brotos por planta, respectivamente. Tanto o substrato pó de xaxim quanto o substrato comercial são eficientes para propagação de S. truncata. Portanto, sendo o xaxim (Dicksonia sellowianna) uma espécie da Mata Atlântica que se encontra em extinção, recomenda-se a utilização de substrato comercial e uso do regulador de crescimento AIB para promover incremento de brotação. Palavras-chave:Auxina. Estaca. Flor-de-maio. Abstract:The ornamental cactus, Schlumbergera truncata, is propagated by cuttings, with xaxim (Dicksonia sellowiana) being one of the substrates used. However, xaxim is endangered, and it has become necessary to evaluate alternative substrates. The use of suitable substrates and of substances that promote organogenesis, such as auxins, aid in the process of plant propagation. The aim of this study therefore, was to evaluate the development of cuttings of S. truncata in different substrates, and the effect of IBA on organogenesis. Six treatments were carried out, consisting of a combination of three substrates (powdered xaxim, powdered coconut and a commercial substrate), and two rates of IBA (0 and 600 mg L -1 ). Twenty cuttings were used per treatment, distributed over five replications of four cuttings, in a completely randomised design and a 3 x 2 factorial (substrates x AIB). There was no significant interaction between the factors, which were evaluated separately. For the powdered xaxim substrate, the commercial substrate and the powdered coconut, the cuttings displayed 3.0, 3.7 and 1.3 shoots per plant respectively. After exposure to a solution of IBA of 0 or 600 mg L -1 , the cuttings presented 2.2 and 3.1 shoots per plant respectively.
