Endothelial function in normal and pathological conditions

Abstract: The article presents the data on the state of endothelial function in the normally and in various diseases and conditions. The basic  functions of endothelium in modulation of vascular tone, atrombogenicity and thrombogenicity of the vascular wall, regulation of  vascular wall adhesion, regulation of vascular growth are described. The main causes leading to the formation of endothelial  dysfunction and the mechanisms underlying it are highlighted. Numerous studies on the evaluation of endothelial function in  … Show more

“…Кроме того, при гиперхолестеринемии в сосудистой стенке уменьшается образование NO за счёт накопления ингибиторов NO-синтазы, таких как L-глутамин, асимметричный диметиларгинин, а также уменьшения концентрации кофактора NO-синтазы тетрагидробиоптерина [8].…”

“…The capillary network with its complex system of regulation is composed of endothelium, which plays, as established by numerous studies, a role that is far from passive [4,27,28]. The independent role of the endothelium in the regulation of vascular tone was first reported in a paper by Furchgott and Zawadzki published in Nature in 1980 [29].…”
