To cope with economic globalization and improve the competitiveness of transnational start-ups, the impact of the work environment and innovation behavior on corporate performance of multinational new ventures is analyzed. First, a model of the interaction among environment, innovation behavior, and enterprise performance is proposed. Then, 296 transnational start-ups in coastal areas are surveyed, and the model results are analyzed. Finally, a series of results are obtained. The results show that from the perspective of psychology, work dynamic organizational learning environment has a positive impact on enterprise performance (standardized path coefficient 0.436, p < 0.01), and resource environment has a significant positive impact on enterprise performance (standardized path coefficient 0.425, p < 0.01). Strategic environment also positively affects enterprise performance (standardized path coefficient 0.474, p < 0.01). Therefore, the working environment of multinational new ventures has a positive impact on firm performance, and the mediating function between the working environment and firm performance is firm innovation behavior. With the research to achieve enterprise innovation of multinational new ventures by improving their response to the dynamic environment, the corporate performance has been greatly promoted, and finally, the new ventures would participate in the international market competition.

The current study aimed to develop and validate the measure of psychological capital (Pychological Capital Scale; PCS)) for dual roles individuals. A conceptual referent theory of positive psychological capital anticipated by Luthans et al. (2004) guided for development of the instrument. Further, factor analysis and reliability of PCS were determined on the sample of 150 dual-role individuals belonging to various educational institutes, government and private organizations, hospitals, software houses, and private firms of Punjab. Additionally, 21 items of the PCS were subjected to principal component analysis and emerged four factors. Each item loaded at above .45 on four factors, labeled as Goal orientation (7 items; 31.07% variance), Optimism (6 items; 8.09% variance), Self-efficacy (5 items; 7.17% variance), and Resilience (3 items; 6.08% variance). The scale items exhibited a high level of internal consistency, which was supported by the reliability estimates of the alpha coefficient (?=.89) and item-total correlation (ranging from .29 to .62, p<.05). The construct validity of the instrument was established with a Positive Psychological Capital (PPC) Scale (Luthans et al., 2004) and a Stress Scale (subscale of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) (Osman et al., 2012) on the sample of dual-role individuals. Additionally, confirmatory factor analysis of the measurement model indicated a four-factor solution for measuring psychological capital. Furthermore, the reliability and validity analyses of the scale demonstrated its high reliability and validity in assessing the level of psychological capital in individuals with dual roles. The scale's psychometric properties are further examined, along with limitations and suggestions.

Skills and abilities to thrive in remote work: What have we learned

The COVID-19 pandemic led to a rapid acceleration in the number of individuals engaging in remote work. This presented an opportunity to study individuals that were not voluntarily working remotely pre-pandemic and examine how they adapted and learned to achieve success in a remote work environment, at an organization that did not have substantial prior experience managing remote work. We used a semi-structured interview process to interview participants (n = 59) who occupied both Individual Contributor and Leadership levels at an organization and broadly representative across several important demographic characteristics. We asked participants to discuss what factors at individual, team, and organizational levels contributed positively toward their remote work experience, which factors presented challenges to remote work, and what could be done to ensure success with remote work in the future. Interviews were analyzed utilizing a thematic analysis approach and summarized into common themes pertaining to factors that influence success in a remote working environment. Themes were used to identify specific skillsets particularly relevant to remote work that would benefit from training, as well as important organizational culture changes and policies needed to support remote workers and ensure their success. We present these and other findings in relation to current research and provide recommendations for practitioners.
