Electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of composite carbon nanotube macro-film at a high frequency range of 40 GHz to 60 GHz

Abstract: The electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) of carbon nanotube (CNT) macro-film that is adhered to common cloth to maintain the light weight, silk-like quality, and smooth surface of the material for EMI shielding is investigated. The results show that a high and stable EMI SE of 48 dB to 57 dB at 40 GHz to 60 GHz was obtained by the macro-film with a thickness of only ∼4 μm. The composite CNT macro-film is easily manipulated, and its EMI property is significantly different from that of… Show more

“…Film is proverbially a good option for electromagnetic shielding due to its ultrathin plane structure, light weight, and simple preparation process. 19,107 To date, several methods of preparing thin film have been developed, including vacuum Eltration, 20,27 microwave irradiation, 21 centrifugal evaporating, 22,24 electrophoretic deposition, 19 chemical vapor deposition (CVD), 25 and layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly. 23,33,39 Film was discussed with respect to electromagnetic shielding properties and with special attention to the periodic structure.…”

“…This is an effective solution to the problem of uneven conductive Eller distribution. Wu et al 25 produced CNT macro-film via CVD that exhibits an EMI SE of 78 dB and SSEt value of 1,950,000 dBÁcm 2 /g. Kumar et al 20 prepared a large area of RGO by vacuum Eltration, which has excellent conductivity (243 S/cm) and EMI SE (20 dB).…”

“…1 One of the essential countermeasures is the use of electromagnetic shielding. Efforts have been made over the past two decades to find effective shielding materials such as metals, metallic mesh, 2 doped carbon nanotubes, 3 composite carbon nanotube flexible films, 4 and conducting polymers. 5 By using sol-gel process, inherently conducting polymer based transparent composites have also received superior attention due to their high conductivity and permittivity values.…”

“…Electromagnetic interference pollution can disturb equipment and systems for medical, industrial, commercial, and military applications [1][2][3]. It is possible to say that the electromagnetic radiation of radio frequency band, is generated by the radio electronic means, is distinguished from natural background by its frequency and power characteristics and of course, makes an additional contribution to the reaction of biological objects.…”
