“…44 It is important to notice that the onset potential for the OER (~1.4 V vs. HESS) obtained on the IrO 2 /BDD electrode has a similar value to that obtained using elaborated binary and ternary electrodes, i.e., Ti/RuO 2 -Nb 2 O 5 electrodes prepared by the polymeric precursor method 45 and for Ti/Ru 0.3 Pb (0.7-x) Ti x O 2 electrodes prepared by thermal decomposition of ruthenium, titanium and lead inorganic salts dissolved in isopropanol. 46 In addition, the response of the RuO 2 /BDD electrode is also somewhat better than that of the BDD sample while the PbO 2 /BDD electrode is extremely inactive for the OER. In fact, PbO 2 electrodes have been largely used as anodes under extreme conditions due to its extended anodic window in aqueous media 47,48 while RuO 2 anodes are commonly reported as appropriate materials to promote the OER reaction.…”

“…Quantitativamente, é constatado que estes materiais apresentam um enriquecimento de Pb, como pode ser observado na Tabela 1. Estas observações são consistentes com dados publicados pelos autores, 36 onde o enriquecimento por Pb é observado para eletrodos de composição Ti/Ru 0.3 Pb (0.7−x) Ti x O 2 . De acordo com estes autores, 36 o Pb enriquece a superfície, assim, possívelmente blindando a presença de Ti.…”

“…The electrolytic solution was prepared with high-purity water from a Millipore Milli-Q system; its initial pH was adjusted to 3.0 with analytical grade sulfuric acid from Merck (Germany). This pH value has been chosen based on our previous results, 25,26 which indicate that the stability and the lifetime of the anodes and hydroxyl radicals are enhanced in acid media. Furthermore, this pH enhances the formation of chloroactive species when the electrolyte contains chloride ions and can be used as a comparative basis among the various researches involving the degradation of reactive dyes.…”
