Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Production Properties of Poly(3-aminobenzoic acid) doped with Metal Organic Frameworks

Abstract: The design and development of inexpensive highly efficient electrocatalysts based on polymer organometallic composites for hydrogen production, underpins several emerging clean-energy technologies. In this work, for the first time, Poly(3-aminobenzoic acid) based metal organic framework (PABA/MOF) composite was synthesized by chemical oxidation of 3-aminobenzoic acid monomer in the presence of metal organic framework (MOF) content. Poly(3-amino benzoic acid) (PABA), MOF and PABA/MOF composite were characterize… Show more

“…This indicates the increase of IPCE efficiency to about 37%. Finally, the obtained values of IPCE, ABPE, and J ph of the present study are compared with the previously reported values of relevant or similar materials as shown in Table . The reported values in this study for IPCE and ABPE are higher than that previously obtained for the displayed materials or composites as shown in Table .…”

“…The PABA synthesis reactions are demonstrated in Fig. 1 [29][30][31][32]. In the synthesis of the PABA polymer, 3.428 g (25 mmol) of m-aminobenzoic acid and 11.41 g (50 mmol) of APS were used to provide the molar ratio of the monomer to the oxidant as 1:2.…”

“…In this study, poly(m-aminobenzoic acid) (PABA) chelating polymer was synthesized. PABA polymer is a conducting polymer with electron-rich nitrogen atoms and carbonyl groups [29,30]. This polymer includes primary amine (-NH 2 as end group), secondary amine (>NH) and carboxylic acid (-COOH) chelating functional groups.…”
