Effects of the Coreopsis tinctoria extracts on anti-agingin the aging model mice

Abstract: The effects of the Coreopsis tinctoria extracts on anti-aging were observed by investigating the cerebral index and viscera indexes, the contents of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the serums, the activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in the brain tissues and the ones of catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the liver tissues of the aging model mice. The aging model mice were injected subcutaneously with D-galactose in vivo and intragastric administrated with the Coreop… Show more

“…Numerous substances go about as antioxidants that are scavenging radicals for example flavonoids. Natural plants are broadly devoured by people regularly, these common items have numerous pharmacological and biological properties (Zhang et al, 2016). Baicalein is a flavonoid and its molecular formula is C 15 H 10 O 5 and molecular mass is 270.24.…”

“…D-galactose a reducing sugar called aldohexose that occured naturally in the body and in foods but could be transformed into aldose and hydroperoxide (H 2 O 2 ) by a catalyst galactose oxidase catalyst, if present in high levels, resulted in release of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which could cause damage to the normal cells. D-galactose induced aging in the reproductive system by over-production of ROS and free radicals and decreased the activity of antioxidant enzymes that are very much similar to the normal aging process (age-related aging) (Ahangapour et al, 2014;Zhang et al, 2016;Azman and Zakaria, 2019). The effect of D-galactose in reproductive organs in male laboratory animals was widely described by many researchers.…”

“…Aging would cause the increase of the concentration of inflammatory cytokines in intestinal mucosa, the damage of intestinal tissue structure and the decrease of immune function of small intestinal mucosa (Yin et al, 2019 andZhang et al, 2016). β-CM-7 can significantly increase the content of SIgA, reduce the content of pro-inflammatory factor TNF-α and significantly improve the activity of antioxidant kinase, such as SOD and CAT in small intestinal mucosa and then reduce the intestinal tissue damage caused by aging, maintain the normal form of intestinal tract and enhance the immunity of small intestinal mucosa.…”
