“…The variation of passivation current densities (I pass ) with temperature and pressure is similar to that of corrosion current densities, i.e., the passivation current densities increase with the increase of temperature or pressure. In previous studies, it is reported that temperature and pressure lead to the deterioration of corrosion resistance and pitting resistance of most alloys, such as 316 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, Alloy 690, Fe-20Cr alloys and 2205 duplex stainless steel [ 39 , 40 , 41 , 42 , 43 ]. In the present work, although the corrosion resistance of AMCs decreases with increasing temperature or pressure, the hydrostatic pressure has little effect on pitting resistance of AMCs and the AMCs still exhibit superior pitting resistance under high temperature and high pressure.…”

“…However, it is worth noting that the corrosion rate of Mg-RE alloy at high pressure is lower than that at normal pressure. This phenomenon is related to the fact that high pressure can not only expedite the adsorption of [H] on the surface of Mg-RE alloy, but also impede the desorption of H 2 from the surface of Mg-RE alloy [ 42 ]. At the temperature of 20 °C and 50 °C, the mass of the coated Mg-RE alloy also increases with the immersion time and same as the coated Mg-RE alloy at normal pressure, the coated Mg-RE alloy at high pressure is not degraded after immersion for 360 h. At the pressure of 80 atm, the service lives of the AMCs at 90 °C and 120 °C are 129 h and 87 h, respectively.…”

“…Hydrogen evolution corrosion of duplex stainless steel occurs under the action of H 1 , and the corrosion phenomenon becomes more obvious with the increase of temperature and acidity (Invernizzi et al, 2008). When the pH value decreases from 7 to 3, the corrosion current density increases by an order of magnitude (Kan et al, 2021); low pH value will inhibit the formation of passive film at the same time (Huang et al, 2016;Invernizzi et al, 2008). Although 2205 duplex stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in a harsh environment, the corrosion behavior of 2205 duplex stainless steel in extreme environment of abnormal high temperature and acid fluid has not been studied by predecessors.…”

“…With the rapid development of economic and social progress, the increasing demand for oil and gas resources has forced the development of oil and gas to the gradually harsher conditions and environment of the southwest China and the sea, so the service conditions of downhole tubing are becoming more and more severe 1 3 . In the field of oil and gas exploration, the increasing CO 2 content 4 and mineralization and Cl - ion content 5 , 6 in the produced fluids causes severe corrosion of ordinary carbon steel tubing 7 , even if the injection of corrosion inhibitors into the tubing column can`t effectively inhibit corrosion, carbon steel can no longer meet the long-term service requirements in harsh CO 2 corrosive environment 8 – 10 .…”
