“…The increase in lipid retention in fish fed the SO diet may be due to an increase of LA in the whole body of fish and the imbalance in the n − 3/n− 6 ratio, as well as changes in lipid metabolism by reducing the activity of enzymes involved in the esterification of free fatty acids into triacylglycerol and phospholipid for very low density lipoprotein production, and thereby leading to increase of lipid deposition (Ruyter et al, 2006).
