“…In addition, it was reported that the effect of anti-nutrients was able to decrease intestinal villi height and increase crypt depth(Erdaw and Beyene, 2018) Rocha et al (2014). andNorozi et al (2022) stated that broiler chicken fed a diet high in trypsin inhibitors impaired pancreatic function and intestinal integrity including shortening and destruction of intestinal microvilli. Thus, a lower villus decreases the capacity for nutrient absorption, which eventually has an impact on animal performance.…”

“…Consistent with these results, in this study, we found that ESBM increased the V/C and reduced the CD of the jejunum and duodenum in broilers. These effects might be attributed to the breakdown of antinutritional factors such as glycinin and β-conglycinin in SBM, which were demonstrated to decrease VH, increase CD and reduce the VH to CD ratio, thus having negative effects on the intestinal structure and impairing nutrient digestion and assimilating [31][32][33]. Another explanation may be that compared to SBM, ESBM had a higher level of small peptides after an in vitro enzymolytic hydrolysis and fermentation.…”

“…The intestinal microbes of animals play important roles in nutrient digestion and absorption, immune status and gut homeostasis (Peng et al, 2021;Kogut and Fernández-Miyakawa, 2022;Norozi et al, 2022). The cecum is an ideal habitat for the microbes and has the highest density in the goose gut.…”
