“…According to phytochemical analysis, zamzam water extract of CZ contained flavonoids, phenol, and saponin and their concentration were lower compared to that of ethanolic extract of CZ 18 . The calculated IC 50 value of CZ zamzam water extract was 28.24 pg/ml or 20 μg/ml slightly higher compared to that of ethanol extract of CZ 13.71 pg/ml or less than 20 μg/ml.…”

“…At doses of 100, 250, 500, and 1000 mg/ml, the rhizome extract of C. zedoaria effectively inhibits the growth of Streptococcus mutants , Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans and could reduce as much as 99.99% of the population of microbes [ 12 ]. Another beneficial effect of this white turmeric is that it is not only used for the maintenance of physical health but is also advantageous for curing various diseases such as cancer or tumors [ 13 , 14 ]. Dosoky and Setzer [ 15 ] affirm that the extract of C. zedoaria rhizome shows anticancer characteristics, antiinflammatory, analgesic, antiallergic, antiparasitic against Entamoeba histolytica , antibacterial, and antifungal activity.…”

“…In previous studies, the extraction of phytochemicals from the C. zedoaria rhizome was conducted merely using ethanol or methanol (MeOH) [ 14 , 18 ]. Ethanol or MeOH solvents are polar solvents that can only extract polar compounds.…”
