Effect of the change of the ancillary carboxylate bridging ligand on the SMM and luminescence properties of a series of carboxylate-diphenoxido triply bridged dinuclear ZnLn and tetranuclear Zn2Ln2complexes (Ln = Dy, Er)

“…22,23 More importantly, for versatile rare earth elements, multifunctional 4f-based molecular magnets have great research potential, although relative studies are very limited. [24][25][26] In this frontier article, we mainly summarize research that recently has emerged involving 4f-based SMMs in combination with luminescence thermometry and photochromic and ferroelectric properties, respectively.…”

“…These bond parameters values are consistent with other dinuclear Dy III -Zn II complexes found in the literature. [79,87,[105][106][107][108][109] Certain selected examples of dinuclear Dy III -Zn II complexes present in the literature are provided as Table S7.…”

“…Many reported lanthanide( iii )-type SIMs/SMMs are based on isolated discrete complexes. 4,9–34 The construction of Ln( iii )-type framework structures enables new functionalities beyond SIMs/SMMs, such as responsiveness to external stimuli, proton conduction, high structural stability, and reversible switching of magnetization by guest molecule absorption. 35–43 Slow magnetic relaxation in many framework compounds made by 3d metal ions is usually absent due to the existence of 3D ordered exchange interactions among metal ions, such as Ru and Co in the coordination framework.…”
