“…Synchronizing the rate of N and energy release in the rumen for 24 h resulted in stable rumen condition and increased microbial efficiency (Fadel Elseed 2005). However Henning et al (1993) and Valkeners et al (2004) showed that rumen fermentation is not affected remarkably by an asynchronization of N and energy supply over a 48-h period.…”

“…A new diet evaluation system using protein balance in the rumen has been developed in the Netherlands (Tamminga et al 1994). Following these evaluation methods, several researchers had reported that the improvements in microbial metabolism due to upgrading rumen synchronicity resulted in greater improvements in animal performance (Sinclair et al 1993;Witt et al 1999;Fadel Elseed 2005;Mitani et al 2005), but some have disputed that ruminal synchronization between N and energy release improves microbial yield and animal performance (Kolver et al 1998;Kim et al 2000;Valkeners et al 2004). As described in the latest review on microbial synthesis by Dewhurst et al (2000), recent research into the synchronization efficacy has produced results confounded by factors such as intake response to experimental diets, dietary proportion of RDN and fermentable carbohydrates, rumen degradation kinetics with N and OM, fluctuation of both RDN and energy supply to rumen microbes in a specific feeding regimen including ruminal infusion procedures.…”

“…Many researchers stated that using of high quality forage increased the production with low input cost. On the other hand, the higher amount of concentrates used in the Diet-AM caused the impaired energy protein synchronization which resulted low milk production (Lardy et al, 2004;Elseed, 2005;Schwab and Boucher, 2005).…”
