Effect of Premicturitional Bladder Volume on the Accuracy of Sonographic Assessment of Post Void Residual Urine Volume Measurement by Transabdominal Ultrasonography
Abstract:Introduction: The Post Void Residual Urine volume (PVRU) is frequently significant in patients with bladder outflow obstruction; especially in patients with enlarged prostate and prostatism. The PVRU forms an important part of radiological investigation. Accurate measurement of the residual urine volume changes observed serially over a period of time may indicate clinical progress. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of pre-void bladder volume on PVRU measurements.
