La 1-x Sr x NiO 3 (x= 0.0, 0.3 or 0.7) perovskite-type oxides were synthesized using the modified proteic gel method and using collagen as an organic precursor. Catalysts of La 1-x Sr x NiO 3 /Al 2 O 3 were obtained using the wet impregnation method. The synthesized catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, surface area and temperature-programmed reduction. The catalysts were evaluated in the partial oxidation reaction of methane, and the levels of selectivity to CO, CO 2 , H 2 and H 2 O were determined. Among the catalysts studied, the catalyst LaNiO 3 /Al 2 O 3 had the highest methane conversion level (78%) and higher H 2 selectivity (55%). ResumoEsse trabalho teve como objetivo sintetizar óxidos com a estrutura tipo perovskita de composição LaFeO 3 , LaFe 0,8 Al 0,2 O 3 e LaFe 0,8 Cr 0,2 O 3 pelo método sol-gel proteico, visando sua aplicação como pigmento cerâmico. Os pós resultantes do processo de síntese foram calcinados a 600 e 800 °C e em seguida caracterizados por difração de raios X com refinamento Rietveld, microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV), microscopia eletrônica de transmissão (MET), espectroscopia na região do UV-visível e colorimetria CIE-L*a*b*. De acordo com os difratogramas de raios X, todos os pós calcinados foram monofásicos com estrutura tipo perovskita ortorrômbica. As imagens de MEV e MET revelaram que os pós foram porosos e nanométricos. As ferritas de lantânio sem dopagem apresentaram cores em tons pastel, sendo mais claros nos pós dopados com alumínio. Já a ferrita dopada com cromo apresentou coloração marrom claro. As colorações foram mais intensas com o aumento da temperatura de calcinação. Palavras-chave: pigmento, gelatina, perovskita, ferrita. In this study, strontium and copper dual-doped La 2 NiO 4 annealed in Ar (La 0.5 Sr 1.5 Ni 0.9 Cu 0.1 O 4-δ -Ar, LSNC-Ar) with K 2 NiF 4 structure is strategically designed as an ammonia oxidation reaction (AOR) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) bifunctional catalyst for high-efficiency ammonia electrolysis. The selective substitution of lanthanum with high content strontium improves the electronic conductivity and increases the oxygen vacancy concentration. Doping of Cu into the B-site of the perovskite induces a synergistic interplay of Ni and Cu, leading to excellent AOR activity. Due to the excellent AOR and HER activity of doped La 2 NiO 4 , a symmetric ammonia electrolyzer based on LSNC-Ar (SAE-LSNC-Ar) is assembled and investigated for the removal of ammonia. In addition, the performance of the SAE is comparable to the ammonia electrolyzer based on a PtIr/C anode and Pt/C cathode at low voltage. This is the first report using an oxide with the K 2 NiF 4 structure as an efficient AOR catalyst. The assembled SAE-LSNC-Ar shows ≈95% ammonia removal efficiency in real landfill leachate, which is the highest among electrochemical removal of ammonia in landfill leachate. This study paves an attractive route to explore materials with the K 2 NiF 4 structure as highly efficient AOR/HER bifunctional catalysts for the electrolysis of ammonia.
