Abstract:During the U-type hot cracking test of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), the back side stainless steel was subjected to a continuous water flow (water-cooled GTAW) to prevent solidification cracking. The solidification cracking susceptibility was evaluated by electron backscatter diffraction and a finite element method. As the misorientation angle of the dendrite structure decreased due to the water-cooling process, the solid-liquid interface energy increased, making the liquation film unstable, and bridging oc… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
