Effect of filler carbonization on agro-waste based ceiling board

Abstract: This work presents the use as a filler of carbonized breadfruit seed coat and recycled low density polyethylene as the binder in ceiling board manufacturing. The depulped bread fruit seed was carbonized for 2 h at a temperature of 500°C. The experimental design was set up using the Design Expert software. A total of 30 experimental tests were developed for four parameters and three responses. The parameters are carbonized bread fruit seed coat/recycled Low Density Polyethylene mass ratio (filler-binder mass ra… Show more

“…Considering the effect of each factor and their interaction on the scale inhibition efficiency of EDTMPS, their contour plots and 3D response surface plots can be obtained using the Design‐Expert 13 software, as shown in Figure 4 22–24 . The graph of the response surface method is the contour plot of the influence factors A, B, and C together with a specific response surface composed of three‐dimensional space on a two‐dimensional plane.…”

“…Considering the effect of each factor and their interaction on the scale inhibition efficiency of EDTMPS, their contour plots and 3D response surface plots can be obtained using the Design-Expert 13 software, as shown in Figure 4. [22][23][24] The graph of the response surface method is the contour plot of the influence factors A, B, and C together with a specific response surface composed of threedimensional space on a two-dimensional plane. When controlling one of the influence factors at the 0 level, the analysis of the influence factors in the remaining two response surfaces, according to the regression equation can be fitted to the model to produce the corresponding response surface plot made in three-dimensional space.…”

“…These products include palm trees, rice, sugar cane, bagasse, coconut fibre and so on. [1][2][3] To get these products to the final consumers, several agricultural activities are involved; cultivation, harvesting and processing. These activities are accompanied by the generation of quite a chunk of agricultural waste.…”

“…According to the literature, a number of these agricultural wastes have been investigated to become potential raw materials for the production of different Engineering materials. Some of these studies include palm fruit fibre for brake pads, 7 cane wood for brake pads, 8 cane wood for ceiling board, 8,9 breadfruit seed coat for ceiling board, 3,10 bagasse, 11 palm kernel shell, 12,13 mahogany wood, 14 corn cobs and cassava stalks for particle boards production 15 and Rice husk and sawdust. 16,17 Success in these studies holds several advantages which include the constant availability of these industrial and agricultural wastes in Nigeria.…”
