Effect of Dietary Humic Preparations on the Content of Trace Elements in Hens’ Eggs

Abstract: Mineral-humic preparations Humokarbowit (HKW) and Humobentofet (HBF) were used in feeding of reproductive laying hens Lohmann Brown. The effect of these preparations on microelement composition of eggs was investigated. The content of microelements in hens diet, egg albumen and eggshell was determined by ICP-MS technique and relative bioaccumulation coefficient (RBC) was evaluated. The humic preparations significantly increased selenium and decreased molybdenum concentration in egg albumen. Increase of seleniu… Show more

“…1; Table S1). Generally, cobalt concentrations have not been known to exceed 0.94 Co ppm d.w. in the eggshells of wild birds (Burger and Gochfeld 1988;Dauwe et al 2005;Ikemoto et al 2005;Al-Obaidi et al 2012) or 0.87 Co ppm d.w. in the eggshells of hand-reared species (reviewed in Dobrzański et al 2007;Abduljaleel et al 2011). Our cobalt concentration appears to be the highest yet reported in avian eggshells: ca.…”

“…Elmadfa and Muskat (2003) reported Cr concentrations in the various components of egg as 0.05-0.30 mg g À1 and in yolk itself as 0.20 mg g À1 fresh mass. Chromium concentrations in the range of 0.021-1.173 mg g À1 were reported for the various components of egg with the highest Cr concentration found in the egg shell while the lowest Cr concentration was found in the albumen (Dobrzanski et al 2007).…”

“…Kato et al (2003) reported Co contents of 0.0877 mg g À1 in eggs. Cobalt concentrations ranging from 0.0015 to 0.166 mg g À1 have been reported in eggs from Poland (Dobrzanski et al 2007). The concentrations of Co reported in this study were higher than values reported by these researchers.…”

“…It may be thus concluded that poultry reactions on phytoadditives are variable, and blood indices are the criteria of their usefulness in these birds feeding. The components of applied humic-plant preparations are used in poultry feeding (Dobrzański et al 2007, Eren et al 2008, Gładkowski et. al 2011, Bubel et al 2013a.…”

“…Intensifying trends of animal production "ecologization", prohibition of an application of antibiotic growth stimulators or meat-and-bone meals (excluding fish meals) favor an increased interest in an application of herbs and special plants (Czech et al 2012, Saeid et al 2013, Zanu et al 2013) as well as other natural raw materials including humic ones (some species of brown coal, peat, humus) as the sources of biologically active substances for production of special feed additives and biopreparations (Dobrzański et al 2007, Bubel et al 2014. These may considerably modulate animal metabolic processes and act in immunostimulating and preventive manner (Yildiz et al 2008, Eevuri and Putturu 2013, Rząsa et al 2014.…”
