In order to generate strategies for the use of native species for ecological restoration, this paper presents the effects resulting from planting with facilitating tree species, in different proportions, after 13 years of forest restoration, in an area previously used for cattle buffaloes. The implantation was carried out in the Ombrophilous Dense Forest in the Lowlands, in the Atlantic Rainforest biome of the coastal plain of the state of Paraná and consisted of the plantation of 10 native species, distributed in two treatments: equal (A) and unequal (B) proportions of trees per species. After conducting a forest census, it was identified that the silvicultural expression of the facilitating tree species in the treatments differed significantly, and proportion A contributed to a scenario with greater silvicultural heterogeneity in the areas, which may be beneficial to the evolution of the ecological dynamics of the forest restoration process. In addition, the monitoring of Alchornea glandulosa, Inga edulis, and Myrsine coriacea expressed better development in the area and high resilience to the environmental adversities arising from the cattle ranching activity previously carried out, especially in relation to invasive grasses; therefore, they are recommended for use in the forest restoration of associated ecosystems.

RESUMO -O presente trabalho é um inventário das Leguminosae do butiazal da Fazenda São Miguel, Tapes, Rio Grande do Sul. Foram registradas duas subfamílias (Caesalpinioideae e Papilionoideae), nove tribos, 19 gêneros e 32 espécies. As tribos mais representativas são Phaseoleae (7 spp.), Dalbergieae (6 spp.) e Desmodieae (5 spp.) e os gêneros são Desmodium (5 spp.), Mimosa (3 spp.) e Chamaecrista (3 spp.). Verificou-se o estado de conservação das espécies e apenas seis espécies foram avaliadas quanto ao nível de ameaça de extinção, estando classificadas como pouco preocupante, o que demonstra a deficiência de dados sobre níveis de ameaça das demais espécies da família. Quanto à distribuição geográfica no Brasil, Crotalaria tweediana e Mimosa sanguinolenta ocorrem apenas nos três estados da Região Sul do Brasil. Lupinus lanatus e Rhynchosia lineata ocorrem exclusivamente nos estados de Santa Catarina e Rio Grande do Sul, enquanto Clitoria nana, Lupinus albescens e Macroptilium psammodes somente no Rio Grande do Sul.

The analysis of variance is the statistical test most used for comparison of three or more means simultaneously. Its application requires, however, the compliance to some assumptions, with main emphasis on normality of the data and homoscedasticity of variances. When such requirements are not met, one of the alternatives is the data transformation to enable the continuity of the experimental evaluation. With the proposition of the Tukey’s data transformation system, understood as a power transformation system, i.e. the application of nth root on a data set (X⅟n) this statistical procedure has methodologically evolved to ensure such solutions. In the present research we proposed a complement to this system, denominated here as transformation in four steps, with inclusion of two hypothesis tests to evaluate normality and homoscedasticity. This was applied on experimental data to evaluate the amount of radiation available at soil level within stands of Acacia mearnsii De Wild. We have proposed a model for data transformation to simultaneously obtain homoscedasticity and normality. The methodology was appropriate to ensure these two statistical aspects on the experimental data, allowing comparison of eight treatments by conventional analysis of variance.
