Show more

“…When formulating diets for broiler chickens, questions arise about the limits of energy utilisation by the birds, either due to the maximum peak of growth or to a physiological limitation due to the rate of synthesis of enzymes, including those related to lipid digestion (lipase), and the ability to synthesise and recirculate bile acids and salts, especially in young birds (MURAKAMI et al, 2009;UPADHAYA et al, 2017).…”

“…In addition, fats reduce the food passage rate, and thus they remain longer under the action of the digestive enzymes, thereby increasing the processes of digestion and absorption of nutrients, which has a positive influence on the response of the birds [ 26 ]. Murakami et al [ 27 ] observed a linear increase in weight gain with subsequent improvement in feed conversion in the initial rearing period of broilers fed diets containing increasing levels of linseed oil in the period from 1 to 42 days of age, which is also explained by the extra-caloric value of the fats.…”

“…The Seedor index is a means to measure bone density, where the higher the index, the higher the density of the bone and vice versa (MURAKAMI et al, 2009). The treatments had a positive quadratic effect on the Seedor index: 142.55 was obtained (at 35 days) with 1.53 µg of added active vitamin D 3 per kg of feed, which is the recommended dose to maintain bone quality.…”
