The research sought to understand the value of patriotism in the Hikayat Prang Sabi by using a qualitative approach. Hikayat was referred to narratives (saga) of war rooted in Acehnese cultural tradition, and Prang Sabi in Acehnese language meant ‘Holy War’. As a literary work, Hikayat Prang Sabi embodied the concept of jihad, which was usually sung during the time of war in the Acehnese history: Portuguese in 1511, Dutch in 1873, Japan in 1942, and the Republic of Indonesia in 1976. The source of the data was verses or stanzas of Hikayat Prang Sabi that contained patriotic values. These verses were then treated as the unit of analysis. A hermeneutic approach was employed to analyze the data. The findings show that Hikayat Prang Sabi contains two types of patriotic values: national and religious. National value refers to the sense of nationalism, ethnicity, and humanity. Religious value, on the other hand, displays the value of spirituality, prophecy, and peace. These values indicate the foundation of thinking and doing of the Acehnese people manifested in a literary work, which then can be transferred into the notion of character education.

The article discusses methods and ethno-pedagogical approachesinKazakh customs, traditions, rituals of creative work, pedagogical competitions where students get the opportunity to demonstrate theoretical knowledge, erudition, and originality of thinking. This is a comprehensive monitoring study to show the experiences of teaching students ethno-pedagogical and other pedagogical approaches for forming a civil and patriotic worldview among students and preserving ethno-cultural traditions. Dialectical principles were used as the methodological basis of the study, making it possible to identify the main characteristics of the studied phenomena and processes in their interconnection for determining the trends in their formation and development. The results of the study shows the pedagogical potential of the ethno-cultural traditions of the Kazakh people is determined in its value -semantic aspect in the patriotic education of university students, taking into account modern socio-cultural conditions, traditions of the Kazakh people. Purpose: The purpose of the article is to study groups of civil patriotism and to highlight the features of their civil-Patriotic practices in local communities in the South of Russia. Methodology: The sociological investigation utilized quantitative and subjective strategies, just as techniques for hypothetical understanding of the acquired experimental information. The basis of the scientific study of common nationalism bunches in Russia in the South of Russia was a lot of wellsprings of experimental data, including the aftereffects of a sociological report directed by an individual poll "up close and personal" in five subjects of the Russian Federation in the South of Russia. Result: The results of the sociological study made it possible to distinguish two social groups in regional communities – youth and the "over 60" generation, which are currently the social basis for the development of civic patriotism, whose representatives are characterized by a desire for active social action for the good of the fatherland and its people, participation in civil practices aimed at protecting social interests, civil rights and freedoms, as well as readiness for civil liability for their deeds and actions both in the field of professional activity and in everyday life. Applications: This research can be used for universities, teachers, and students. Novelty/Originality: The results of a sociological study show that in local communities in the South of Russia, no more than 10% of the population can be classified as civil patriotism groups.
