Eco-Friendly Construction

Abstract: Increase in urbanization leads to more construction of houses, dams, and streets. Reduction of the global warming effects can be carried out by recycling of construction material and searching for eco-friendly construction material. Greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced with the help of construction material which requires less energy for their production. The concept of eco-friendly construction is based on biomimetic (i.e., finding natural material with potential of endurance and self-cleaning properties).… Show more

“…The various studies were carried out by the researchers to improve the strength parameters by using traditional herbs (Gallnut & Jaggery). In the contemporary world, Eco-friendly construction material is becoming famous due to the fact that they do not affect the earth and the environment [19]. Eco-friendly construction is very essential in the future because much of the other resources are getting used up.…”

“…Using bioconcrete in constructions and maintenance of old structures will contribute to preserve structure of the concrete, and reducing overall costs (Harshali et al 2016;Alves et al 2019;Castro-Alonso et al 2019). Additionally, microbe's contributions in this field are to be added to the list of biotechnological applications that emphasis the ability of microbes to continuously serve humanity (Daba et al 2018;Elkhateeb and Daba 2019;Waghmode et al 2019;Algaifi et al 2020). The term "microbe" refers to many different types of organisms, but research work on self-healing concrete has been so far restricted to bacteria (Achal et al 2011;Krishnapriya and Babu 2015;Jin et al 2018;Ruan et al 2019).…”

“…Today more and more people are interested in factors aiming at making construction materials more eco-friendly, as written by Waghmode et. al [1]. Cementitious composites are the most widely used materials in the industry and so there is no surprise many efforts have been undertaken in researches for minimizing their impacts to the environment, described by Wang & Li [2].…”
