Dynamic analysis of a dashpots equipped vibrating screen using finite element method

Abstract: Even though vibrating screens have been used in mining industries for over a century, their use has often been cited as challenging in terms of understanding its dynamic responses to different operating factors, particularly those that affect the structural aspects. Among the various aspects of screen design, the control of vibrational energies imposed on various parts of the screen is of particular importance because these vibrations directly affect the separation efficiency and useful life of the screen. Thi… Show more

“…Classical statistical methods were used in this respect [26], as well as "black box" methods based on neural networks [27]. The application of coupled fuzzy logic and experimental design can be found in [28]. Modeling of the influence of mechanical parameters of the device on the hydrodynamic behavior has been presented in [29].…”

“…A thorough comparative analysis of two vibratory screens with single-mass and double-mass oscillatory systems is presented in [1]. The problems of studying the loading characteristics and verifying the reliability parameters of vibratory screening and conveying machines are comprehensively studied in numerous scientific publications, particularly in [2,3]. Another field of investigations, e.g.…”

“…The concept of fuzzy logic was proposed by L. A. Zadeh in 1965 [1] that has received much attention as a powerful tool for interdisciplinary applications, such as clustering [2,3], fault diagnosis [4][5][6], prediction [7,8] and decision making [9][10][11][12], etc. For example, Khoshdast et al [3] presented an approach to reduce the mesh-induced error for CFD analysis; Krzywanski et al [9] applied a set of fuzzy logic-based methods to raise the performance of heat transfer in a super-heater for an industrial CFBC; Khoshdast et al [10] developed a coupled fuzzy logic design for the simulation of a coal classifier in an industrial environment; and in [11], Akbar et al proposed a fuzzy logic-based model to elucidate the effect of FSW parameters on the ultimate tensile strength and elongation of pure copper joints.…”
