Zusammenfassung. Fragestellung: Erhöht sich nach einer stationären Entwöhnungsbehandlung der Anteil Erwerbstätiger und welche Merkmale sind prognostisch relevant? Methode: Retrospektive Feldstudie in der mittels McNemar Test Veränderungen im Erwerbsstatus, mittels Chi Quadrat Test und dreifaktorieller Varianzanalyse Unterschiede zwischen Erwerbstätigen und Arbeitslosen und mittels binärer logistischer Regression Prädiktoren ermittelt wurden. Ergebnisse: Nach einer Entwöhnungsbehandlung der 396 alkoholabhängigen Patienten nahm der Anteil Erwerbstätiger signifikant zu. 89,2 % der zu Behandlungsbeginn Erwerbstätigen (N = 194) blieben erwerbstätig, obwohl sie in der Regel in ihrer Arbeitsfähigkeit stark gefährdet waren. Bei den Arbeitslosen (N = 150), von denen 28 % erwerbstätig wurden, waren sechsmonatige Abstinenz nach Behandlungsende (OR = 3,3) und jüngeres Alter (OR = 2,8) die stärksten Prädiktoren für Erwerbstätigkeit zur Ein-Jahres-Katamnese. Etwa ein Drittel der Patienten waren trotz Alkoholkonsum zur Ein-Jahres-Katamnese erwerbstätig. Jüngere Patienten waren ein Jahr nach Behandlungsende eher erwerbstätig, ältere Patienten eher abstinent. Schlussfolgerungen: Die Ergebnisse bestätigen die Hypothese, dass eine stationäre Entwöhnungsbehandlung sowohl zur Abstinenz als auch zu einer Zunahme Erwerbstätiger führt. Obwohl Abstinenz die wichtigste Voraussetzung für Erwerbstätigkeit ist, wäre zu prüfen, welchen Patienten unter welchen Bedingungen und mit welchen Trinkmustern es gelingt, erwerbstätig zu werden oder zu bleiben.
