“…It is internationally unique in that it integrates huge amounts of very detailed data on distributions, traits, and environmental associations of vascular plant taxa. The database has facilitated systematic mapping of plant distributions in the country (Kaplan et al 2015(Kaplan et al , 2016a(Kaplan et al , b, 2017a(Kaplan et al , b, 2018a(Kaplan et al , b, 2019b(Kaplan et al , 2020 and numerous studies analysing biological and ecological plant traits performed within the Pladias project. Although the Pladias project was finished on 31 December 2018, the database infrastructure is further maintained and improved by the three institutions involved in its development.…”

“…The occurrence records are continuously revised by several experts using the data management module and dynamically displayed in the distribution maps on the Pladias public portal. Once all the occurrence records for a taxon are revised at a level of quadrants of the grid flora mapping, a map of this taxon is published in the series Distributions of vascular plants in the Czech Republic (Kaplan et al 2015(Kaplan et al , 2016a(Kaplan et al , b, 2017a(Kaplan et al , b, 2018a(Kaplan et al , b, 2019b(Kaplan et al , 2020, to be continued). The published map is added to this taxon's factsheet on the Pladias public portal.…”

“…None of these differences, however, were statistically significant (t-test, p > 0.05). In Europe, H. adriaticum is found from the British Isles and France to central European Russia, extending to northern Scandinavia and northernmost Italy; elsewhere, it is very rare [58]. Now, only three sites are extant in the Czech Republic, with the other occurrences having vanished, apparently due to eutrophication followed by succession [58].…”

Now, only three sites are extant in the Czech Republic, with the other occurrences having vanished, apparently due to eutrophication followed by succession [58]. Bódis et al [59] conclude that the decline in dry grasslands due to the abandonment of traditional land-use practices (mowing or grazing) is the most serious threat to H. adriaticum in Hungary.…”
