Distributed generation for economic benefit maximization through coalition formation-based game theory concept

Abstract: Summary For enhancing the awareness and competitiveness of distributed energy resources (DER) in energy markets, an optimal and implementation and operation of these resources. To address this issue, in this paper, objective, DERs that can collaborate with other DER installed as closer or far topologies, forming coalitions for gaining competitiveness between each other in the energy market, have been selected for study. The profit allocation due to coalition between DERs is being identified as an important iss… Show more

“…Researchers all over the world are trying to find the best technologies to distribute electricity more effectively, economically, and securely even to remote located areas. Combined distributed energy resources (DER) form microgrids (MG) that are usually used to counteract these problems [7][8][9]. Distributed energy resources typically use renewable energy sources, and increasingly play an important role in the electric power distribution system.…”

“…The development and utilization of renewable energy have turned out to be new solutions for the worldwide energy depletion and environmental pollution problems [1]. In order to achieve efficient utilization of distributed energy generations, DC microgrid has become a research focus in recent years [2][3][4].…”

“…Generation adequacy is utilized to weigh the ability of the available supply capacity to satisfy the load demand. Owing to the fast increase in installed distributed resources, such as wind turbines and energy storage systems, researchers have become more concerned about power system reliability and its economics [1] after the distributed resources are integrated to the system. Energy storage is a promising technology for improving the generation adequacy of a power system integrated with intermittent energy, and also brings challenges to the security and reliability of the microgrid [2].…”
