“…Numerous elegant studies have demonstrated that DA-6, an artificial plant growth regulator, has a range of biological functions which can impact on field crop production (Zhang et al , 2008; Jiang et al , 2012; He et al , 2013; Salama et al , 2014; Jiang et al , 2015). The present investigation extended the practical uses of DA-6, demonstrating that DA-6 can reverse the loss of germination and seedling establishment activities associated with aging in soybean seeds.…”

“…Diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate (DA-6) is a novel artificial plant growth regulator, which can increase leaf chlorophyll content, and increase the photosynthetic rate and the rates of carbon and oxygen metabolism in plants (Yokoyama et al , 1982; Zhang et al , 2008; Jiang et al , 2012). In agriculture, DA-6 has been registered for use on a range of crops, including cabbage, pakchoi, cotton, tomato, soybean, peanut, and maize (Jiang et al , 2012).…”

“…Environmental stress not only inhibits chlorophyll synthesis but also promotes chlorophyll degradation ( Jin et al, 2019 ). Previous studies have shown that DA-6 can promote the synthesis of chlorophyll by increasing the conversion efficiency of ALA (aminolevulinic acid) to PBG (Porphobilinogen) and PBG to Uro III ( Zhang et al, 2008 ; Jiang et al, 2012 ). In this study, exogenous DA-6 significantly increased chlorophyll content in tomato leaves under LNT stress by promoting the expression of chlorophyll synthesis genes and suppressing the expression of chlorophyll degradation genes ( Figure 2 ), which in turn enhanced the photosynthetic efficiency of plants ( Figure 1 ).…”

“…Diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate (DA-6) is a plant growth regulator that has been applied to a wide range of agricultural crops. It promotes cell growth and division as well as protein and nucleic acid synthesis ( Zhang et al, 2008 ; Jiang et al, 2012 ). DA-6 also promotes germination and seedling establishment in aged soybean seeds by enhancing the hydrolysis of triacylglycerol and the conversion of fatty acids to sugars ( Zhou et al, 2019 ).…”

“…The dissipation half-lives of DA-6 are 1.1–2.2 days, 5.4–8.2 days and 1.5–1.9 days in pakchoi, in cotton, and in the soil, respectively [1]. Rapid degradation of DA-6 would be beneficial for the safe use of DA-6 [14]. Spraying DA-6 at the seedling stage can promote plant growth by enhancing photosynthesis and regulating hormone balance in maize and soybean [3].…”
