Disclosure Ambiental das Empresas de Energia Elétrica Listadas no Índice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial (ISE)

Abstract

O estudo objetivou verificar o nível de disclosure das informações ambientais nos relatórios da administração das empresas de energia elétrica listadas no Índice de Sustentabilidade Empresarial (ISE). Realizou-se pesquisa descritiva, de natureza quantitativa, por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo, nos relatórios da administração do período de 2006 a 2008. A amostra constitui-se de 11 empresas de energia elétrica listadas no ISE. Para a análise quantitativa do índice de disclosure, o instrumento de coleta de dados foi fundamentado no estudo de Rover, Murcia e Borba (2008), que propõem oito categorias ambientais e 36 subcategorias. Para a análise conjunta dos dados elaboraram-se redes dos itens evidenciados em cada empresa, com a utilização software UNICET®. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram que há evidenciação satisfatória nas categorias de políticas ambientais e educação, treinamento e pesquisa ambiental. No entanto, constatou-se que há necessidade de maior divulgação a respeito das categorias dos impactos dos produtos e processos no meio ambiente, políticas de energia e informações financeiras ambientais. Conclui-se que as informações evidenciadas nos relatórios da administração das empresas pesquisadas a respeito das informações ambientais não respeitam o princípio do full disclosure (divulgação plena).
