“…The results showed that T/A‐mediated hBMSC‐derived hepatic cells could metabolize around 10 times more urea than the liver‐like cells in previous study (250 pg/cell/h vs 20 pg/cell/h) but secreted less albumin (~5 µg/mL/day) into medium compared with the hepatic cells differentiated from human adipose tissues (~30 µg/mL/day) and primary human hepatocytes (~70 µg/mL/day) . These results might reflect the fact that the sources of initial hMSCs could also play a key role for hepatic maturation, as pointed out by another study . Taken together, the results indicated that T/A‐mediated differentiation efficacy to direct hBMSCs into hepatic cell lineage could exhibit de novo liver physiology.…”
