Avaliou-se neste trabalho as características histomorfométricas da mucosa intestinal de tambaqui após uso de probiótico a base de Bacillus spp., veiculado na ração e dissolvido na água durante transporte. Foi utilizado um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três tratamentos e sete repetições, sendo comparado um tratamento controle (peixes alimentados com ração comercial sem probiótico) a dois outros tratamentos envolvendo o uso de probiótico comercial, veiculado na ração ou na água de transporte. Um total de 510 juvenis de tambaqui (peso e comprimento total médio inicial de 83,26±28,14g e 17,39±1,90cm, respectivamente) foi distribuído em três tanques de alvenaria. Durante 60 dias, os peixes de dois tanques foram alimentados com ração comercial e os do terceiro tanque com ração comercial suplementada com probiótico. Após este período, os peixes de cada tanque foram divididos em sacos plásticos e transportados por 4 horas de acordo com os seguintes tratamentos: T1 = alimentação com ração comercial (controle); T2 = alimentação com ração comercial e probiótico adicionado na água durante o transporte (20mg/L); T3 = alimentação com ração comercial suplementada com probiótico (1,0g/kg de ração). Antes do transporte (basal), 24 e 96 horas após o transporte, oito peixes de cada tratamento foram submetidos a eutanásia e o intestino retirado para pesagem e mensuração do comprimento para estabelecimento da relação comprimento corporal/ intestino. Em seguida, foi realizada coleta da porção anterior e posterior do intestino, para avaliação das características morfo-histológicas da mucosa intestinal. O uso de probiótico durante o transporte não afetou o peso do intestino de juvenis de tambaqui. O comprimento do intestino do tambaqui não foi alterado pelo tratamento, sendo observada somente relação linear entre o comprimento intestinal e o comprimento corporal (CC) dos peixes. A suplementação com probiótico (Bacillus spp.) não exerceu nenhum efeito na altura e comprimento das vilosidades do intestino do tambaqui desafiados com o transporte.

One hundred forty-four sharpsnout seabream of about 100 g initial body weight were randomly stocked in 12 experiment tanks (180 L). Testing conditions included 12 fish per tank, with triplicate tanks for treatment. The experimental period lasted 150 days. Average water temperature was 21.9±1.6°C, salinity was 30.0‰ and pH ranged from 7 to 8, throughout the experiment. A control diet (FM) was made from fish meal. One similar diet (SBM) was made with approximately 40% of the protein supplied by soybean meal. The remaining two diets (SBM-MOS and SBM-INU) were formulated adding 8 g of mannanoligosaccharide (MOS) and inulin (INU) per kg of the SBM diet, respectively. The results showed that mean final weight (average values 234.4 g), specific growth rate (average values 0.585), feed conversion rate (average values 2.05) and protein efficiency ratio (average values 1.01) were unaffected by MOS or INU supplementation to SBM diet. Body proximate composition was affected by MOS and INU supplementation. Fish fed SBM-MOS and SBM-INU diets showed the highest moisture level and the lowest lipid content. Also the total polyunsaturated fatty of the lipids was reduced by MOS and INU in comparison to SBM diet alone.

The effects of probiotic Primalac on the growth performance, serum biochemical performance, survival and stress resistance of the Caspian roach (Rutilus rutilus) fry (1.29 ± 0.17 g) was investigated in the present study. Four practical diets containing 0 (control), 0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 % probiotic Primalac were used to feed fish. Fish (15 fish/ replicate) were fed on the tested diets at rate of 3 % of body weight for 45 days. Salinity stress test was carried out after 45 days of feeding, in order to determine the effect of Primalac on resistance to salinity stress. Blood samples were obtained in four times after challenge (days 1, 3, 5 and 7) evaluating hematocrit levels. Results showed that final weight, body weight gain and specific growth rate were significantly (P<0.05) increased in treatment groups with Primalac and the highest levels related to fish fed 0.15%. Also, fish fed 0.15 % diet had a significantly highest condition factor compared to the control group and other treatments (P<0.05). Feed conversion ratio was decreased significantly in treatment groups with Primalac (P<0.05). Glucose and cholesterol levels were decreased significantly (P<0.05) in fish fed with diets containing Primalac. In addition, supplementation of Primalac significantly (P<0.05) increased the total protein concentration of probiotic fed groups. On the first day after stress, the hematocrit levels were significantly increased in all groups (P<0.05). The hematocrit levels were decreased in all groups since third day. These results indicate that addition of probiotic Primalac to fish diet exerted positive effects on fish growth and blood biochemical parameters in the Caspian roach.
