Diagnostics of low-pressure discharge argon plasma by multi-optical emission line analysis based on the collisional-radiative model

Abstract: This work is focused on diagnostics of electron temperature (1.0 eV–3.8 eV) and electron density (1.0 × 109 cm−3–5.0 × 1012 cm−3) of low-pressure (133 Pa) discharge argon plasma by optical emission spectroscopic (OES) measurement. The diagnostic method using multi-emission lines was analyzed. First, the excitation-kinetic models were obtained by extracting dominant kinetic processes based on the collisional-radiative model. Then, the diagnostic equations for wide range of electron temperature and density were … Show more

“…Based on these approximations, dominant terms are to be extracted from the RHS of Equations (8) -(9) [39,[72][73][74]. If the above model is made to cover a wide range of the electron temperature and density, too many parameters must be extracted from the summation of the RHS of these equations.…”

“…Furthermore, there are few reports on the differences caused by the data analysis method on OES measurement. Some types of OES measurements of T e or N e for nonequilibrium low-temperature plasma have been proposed, e.g., the dominant elementary process extraction method [24]- [26], line-pair method [3], [27], and excitation temperature conversion method [28]. The dependence of diagnostic results on the spectrum analysis methods of OES measurements is interesting for the improvement of OES measurements.…”
