The open unemployment rate of the vocational high school (SMK) graduates is still the highest of all education levels which is at 8.63%. This is because the competence of vocational school graduates is not yet in line with industry needs. Therefore, this study aims to determine the industry competencies that are most needed in the oil and gas industry according to the perceptions of the employees. The study implements a quantitative descriptive method through the survey method on habit, attitudes, and other things encountered during the working time. There are 164 respondents from various divisions. The result of the study shows that the employability skills needed in today's oil and gas sector are the skill to prioritize occupational safety, the skill to work together in team, the skill to apply theory into practice, the high learning motivation skill, the problem analysis skill, the skill to be adaptive to change and dare to make quick decisions. The employability skill learning can be implemented in the schools or the workplaces through the internship program.

Vocational students in business programs become the future of the global workforce; this field requires innovation, given its added value. Importantly, the balance among profit, people, and the planet is greatly needed. Adaptability to sudden changes, such as pandemics or economic crises, is essential. This research developed a conceptual framework of instructional model for creating innovative projects applying the sufficiency economy philosophy (SEP), which aims to balance prosperity, society, environment, and culture with risk management for private vocational colleges in Bangkok, Thailand. The conceptual framework of instructional model was created from a literature review and empirical studies. Empirical data was gathered by studying current business project instructions from stratified random samples given by 250 teachers. The findings showed that instruction of basic business management, entrepreneurship, risk management, business innovation, and social responsibility are separate instead of integrated and applied to real situations. Furthermore, student business innovation in projects is low, while the suggestions to apply the SEP to business project instruction are high. The conceptual framework of instructional model consisted of instructions and assessments, based on design thinking, SEP, constructivist learning theory, and project-based learning. These instructions and assessments led to student learning outcomes that include the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to develop socially responsible, risk-manageable, and innovative business projects. Evaluation of the conceptual framework of instructional model’s feasibility by five experts resulted in high or very high ratings of all items.

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle learning model on increasing mastery of concepts in the subject matter of salt hydrolysis. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Bengkulu Tengah in the 2018/2019 class XI MIP academic year in one meeting. The trial implementation of the 5E Learning Cycle model uses a pre-experimental research design with the form of one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted in February 2019 at SMAN 1 Bengkulu Tengah. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA in SMA Negeri 1 Bengkulu Tengah academic year 2018/2019 which amounted to 126 people. Determination of the study sample was carried out by testing the normality of the population. The study sample was taken using simple random sampling technique obtained by students of class XI MIPA 1, the number of students was 31 people. The instruments used consisted of student response questionnaire sheets and concept mastery assessment sheets. Student response data, mastery of concepts were analyzed descriptively and their improvement was analyzed by analysis of gain scores. The results showed that students gave a positive response to the 5E learning cycle model with an average value of 4.2 from a maximum value of 5 which indicated that students felt greatly helped by learning with the 5E Learning Cycle model. This is also supported by a high score increase on mastery of concepts which obtained an average value of 76.97 which is in the effective category. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the implementation of the 5E learning cycle model in the subject matter of effective salt hydrolysis to improve mastery of concepts in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Bengkulu Tengah Academic Year 2018/2019.
