Development of Chlorantraniliprole and Lambda Cyhalothrin Double-Loaded Nano-Microcapsules for Synergistical Pest Control

Abstract: Nanotechnology could greatly improve global agricultural food production. Chlorantraniliprole and lambda cyhalothrin double-loaded nano-microcapsules were fabricated to enhance the control of pests by pesticides and improve the pesticide utilization efficiency. The nano-microcapsules were synthesized using a method involving the solid in oil in water encapsulation technique and solvent evaporation. The nano-microcapsules slowly and simultaneously released lambda cyhalothrin and chlorantraniliprole. The cumulat… Show more

“…Dual pesticide-loaded release formulation is another strategy to reduce the number of pesticides applications and improve their low utilization rate by loading two pesticides simultaneously . However, dual pesticide-loaded formulations often suffer from the use of organic solvents , and complex preparation procedures . Thus, further development of dual pesticide-loaded release formulations demands an improvement in their synthesis procedures and utilization.…”

“…and health pests (mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, etc. ). However, pyrethroids have poor water solubility, and their conventional formulations possess high toxicity and low efficiency, hindering their practical application . Therefore, the development of high-efficiency and environmentally friendly pyrethroid formulations is of urgent need.…”

“…Developments in nanotechnology have paved the way for the use of nanocarriers as pesticide release systems. , Various nanomaterials (e.g., carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, silica nanoparticles, and polymer nanostructures , ) have recently been used as pesticide carriers. Smaller size, large specific surface areas, and good solubility of nanomaterials make them highly applicable for pesticide release systems.…”
