Developing Foreign Language Communicative Competence of Engineering Students Within University Extracurricular Activities

Abstract: The topic of the study is the analysis of forms of extracurricular work that contribute to the formation of foreign language communication competence among engineering students. The main tasks of the research are to identify the levels of formation of components of foreign language communicative competence among engineering students, the desire to work on self-improvement outside the classroom workload. “…Such а programme can be effective with the focus on the unity of education and innovative extracurricular activities, of Ukrainian traditions and international experience and assistance as important resources to solve these problems and coordinate the efforts of all participants in the educational policy process. With a view to broadening the perspective of the research, we developed the recommendations for improving the pre-service teachers' training for innovative extracurricular work, taking into account our results and the previous research (Hepp et al, 2015;Marsh, 2002;Pejić-Papak and Vidulin-Orbanić, 2011;Tazhbayeva, 2015;Sandal et al, 2020;Solovey and Demchuk, 2017;Shapran and Shapran, 2010;Shulruf et al, 2008;Wang and Yang, 2009 etc.).
