Determination of Hg(II) ions in sea food samples after extraction and preconcentration by novel Fe3O4@SiO2@polythiophene magnetic nanocomposite

Abstract: This work describes a novel Fe3O4@SiO2@polythiophene magnetic nanocomposite and its application in the preconcentration of Hg(II) ions. The parameters affecting the preconcentration procedure were opted by a Box-Behnken design through response surface methodology. Three factors (uptake time, magnetic nanosorbent amount, and pH of sample) were selected as the main factors affecting the sorption step, while four variables (type, volume and concentration of the eluent as well as the elution time) were selected as… Show more

“…Mesoporous silica is a new carrier for different drugs with remarkable properties such as biocompatibility, high loading capacity due to its high specific surface area and high pore volume, and tunable pore size. [161][162][163][164][165] Core-shell nanocomposites with mesoporous silica have attracted growing interest in recent years. 166 Combining them with a magnetic core leads to benefits including magnetic cores to control these carriers and mesoporous silica to build such efficient vehicles.…”

“…The other very important factor is to study the effect of different ions which are coexisting with the analyte metals in samples [42][43][44][45][46][47]. These coexisting ions lead to interferences effect which is a major issue in preconcentration methods.…”

“…The composite of MMOFs is simple to prepare, stable in structure and function, and can replace the traditional adsorbent to achieve more efficient and faster detection [176,177]. As a result, various MMOFs were synthesized and applied in the extraction of Hg 2+ [178][179][180], Sn 2+ [181], Cr 3+ [182], Pb 2+ [183] from food samples. Figure 11a has illustrated the fabrication of novel MOFs meso-porous nFe 3 O 4 @MIL-88A(Fe)/3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) nanocomposite, which exhibited excellent selective adsorption performance for heavy metal ions [184].…”
