Designing a control system based on SOC estimation of BMS for PV-Solar system

Abstract: Developing countries need to make use of sufficient potential of PV power sources to cover the incremental demand of energy security. Though the PV-diesel microgrid system involving maximum supervising action as well as without having energy storage system can afford the continual power supply in the unelectrified rural area, it may not be circumstantially companionable because of the dependence on fossil-fuels and total dispatched energy cost [1][2]. Moreover, an individual PV system is an incomplete basis of… Show more

“…The proposed method can also be used in renewable energy dependent devices as well as energy conversion systems [42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49][50]. It can also be adapted to monitor the condition of critical high voltage assets, power converters, and various flexible ac transmission system devices [51][52][53][54].…”

“…However, the complexity of the electrochemical responses marks the SOC estimation as a challenging subject [29][30][31]. In case of nonlinear systems, BPNN is the most employed technique because of its self-learning and feedback distinction [25,32]. Thus, BPNN based SOC assessment method is adopted in this paper as shown in Figure 2.…”

“…Recently the advancement and consideration of renewable energy sources (RESs) have been substantially increased. Among them, solar power, wind farms, and battery energy storage have been given much attention 1–6 . Generally, RESs are installed in remote areas or offshore and thus, a reliable condition monitoring and control system has become essential to manage such valuable assets over long distances 7,8 .…”
