Design of a Small Patch Antenna at 3.5 GHZ for 5g Application

Abstract: In this paper a low profile patch antenna has been designed for 5G communication application. The resonating frequency has been chosen as 3.5 GHz for 5G application. FR4 epoxy material with permittivity of 4.3 has been chosen for the substrate material which has fire redundant property. The size of the substrate is 25.2×48 mm2. The main radiating patch is in a shape of ellipse and the line feed technique is used. The simulation is done by CST microwave studio software. Different parameters like S-Parameter, An… Show more

“…The last thing that was looked at was how to increase the directivity, growth, efficiency, and radiation patterns of the 4x1 linear antenna array. As part of this research [13], a low-profile patch antenna was used in 5G communication systems. For 5G, the resonating frequency has been set at 3.5 GHz.…”

“…In this presented work, an approach is made to design an antenna with the existing three-dimensional epaulets metallic star attired by defense personnel for its use in sub-6 GHz 5G communication systems at around 3.3-3.8 and 4.5-4.99 GHz. 16…”

“…However, there lies a challenge in dealing with an existing structure having predefined dimensions and making it work as an antenna. In this presented work, an approach is made to design an antenna with the existing three‐dimensional epaulets metallic star attired by defense personnel for its use in sub‐6 GHz 5G communication systems at around 3.3–3.8 and 4.5–4.99 GHz 16 …”

“…In the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) in 2015, 5G candidate frequency bands below 6 GHz were widely discussed, and the following frequency ranges were suggested: 470-694, 1427-1518, 3300-3800, and 4500-4990 MHz. 3.5 GHz has been widely considered among them, as it is acceptable in most countries [1].…”
