“…Although there has been a significant increase in records of freshwater diaptomid copepods in Thailand from 13 (Lai & Fernando, 1981;Boonsom, 1984) to 37 species (Sanoamuang, 2002;Sanoamuang & Teeramaethee, 2006), most have been found in the northeastern region (Dumont & Reddy, 1994;Dumont et al, 1996;Reddy et al, , 2000Sanoamuang, 1999Sanoamuang, , 2001aSanoamuang, -c, 2004Sanoamuang & Yindee, 2001;Sanoamuang & Athibai, 2002;Sanoamuang & Sivongxay, 2004), whereas relatively little is known about the situation in the north. While examining diaptomid copepods from northern Thailand, we came across another new species of Neodiaptomus.…”

“…Among these, P. praedictus Reddy, 1994 andP. christineae Dumont, Reddy &Sanoamuang, 1996, have been recorded in Thailand. Whereas P. praedictus is common in occurrence, inhabiting roadside canals, ponds, swamps, lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and rice elds, P. christineae is less common, occurring in natural lakes and rivers (Sanoamuang, 1999).…”
