Decay Studies of 197Tl (2.84 H) and 197mHg (23.8 H)

Abstract: From the v-ray spectra of the decays of (2.84 H), »'"""Hg (23.8 H) and '"Hg (64.14 H) obtained as products of the 50 MeV OL particle interaction with "''Au, the absolute y-rsLy intensities of the transitions from the low-lying negative parity states of "^Hg and the relative intensity of the transition from it's 13/2'^ isomeric State, have been measured. The multipolarity of the weak 18.18 keV transition was seen to be very likely an Ml. The IT and EC branching fractions, the log(ft)E and the total conversion e… Show more

“…Therapeutic applications of 197m Hg and 197 Hg are conceivable because of their suitable emission spectra [ 8 ]. The radial dose distribution is comparable to the dose distribution from 177 Lu [ 7 ], a therapeutic radionuclide that is routinely used in nuclear medicine [ 9 ].…”
