Dalla stratigrafia all’archeologia dell’architettura.

Show more

“…In this paper a brief summary is reported in relation to the Italian context. This field of investigation has developed since the 1970s of the last century within the branch of Medieval Archaeology, applying the method typical of excavation to his-toric buildings through the stratigraphic analysis of masonries [39][40][41][42]. Archaeology of building uses the artifact itself as its main historical source and enhances the other types of knowledge with the results of stratigraphic analysis of masonries.…”

“…The project was characterized by the running of an initial Cognitive Project (Parenti, 2002) through the ap− plication of a methodology based on an evaluation, preventive anamnesis of the buildings, for the correct levels of in−depth analysis of the same study ( fig.17). Thus the stratigraphic readings, dependent on obtain− ing precise results, based themselves on the determina− tion of the Construction Phases, focusing on the iden− tification, registration and characterization of all mechanisms potentially activated by seismic phenom− ena and protection techniques used to prevent, repair or mitigate the effects of earthquakes in the long term.…”

“…The Parish church has been partially studied in preliminary studies (Arrighetti [2015]) according to the so-called 'archaeologia dell'architettura' method (Brogiolo [2002], Mannoni [1984], Cagnana and Mannoni [2000], Mannoni [2005], Parenti [2002]). The previous stratigraphic analysis included the facade of the church, the north-facing outside wall of the nave and the west-facing outside wall of the bell tower.…”
