“…The difficulties in understanding the structure of s-BLM are connected with different electrical properties of s-BLM and free standing, conventional BLM. Particularly, for s-BLM formed on the fresh cut surface of the tip of silver or platinum wire covered by a Teflon tube, it has been shown that the equivalent electrical scheme of s-BLM at low frequencies (tens of Hz) cannot be represented by a parallel connection of resistor and capacitor [6,7], which is traditional for conventional BLM. The capacitance of s-BLM at higher frequencies was larger than that of conventional s-BLM of the similar size.…”

“…At higher voltages the current considerably increases and nonlinearly depends on voltage [6]. It has been shown [49] that up to voltages of 0.3± 0.4 V, sBLMs are characterized by speci®c capacitances similar to that of freely suspended membranes. However at higher voltages, the value of C s increases and approaches the values characteristic for a metal-electrolyte interface.…”

“…Current¯uctuations of sBLM have been studied by Passechnik et al [52]. It has been shown that in the frequency range of¯uctuations of 10±1000 Hz the dependence of spectral density, P, on the frequency of¯uc-tuations, f, can be described by 1af a , where a % 1.…”
